Introduction

The London Jewish Forum is proud to have worked with the Mayor of London and London’s Jewish cultural providers to develop and implement OJC.

By showcasing the breadth and depth of Jewish cultural activities in London we hope to promote wider participation amongst Jews and non-Jews alike, greater support for Jewish culture and heritage, and better understanding between all of London’s communities.

We are delighted that Jewish Book Week and the opening of the new Jewish Museum are featured in this launch festival. The creation of the exciting www.openjewishculture.org Jewish culture hub will be a lasting legacy. This is the most public of a range of initiatives that LJF is helping to lead. This includes, for example,  the Jewish Committee for the London Games. You can find out more in the pages that follow.

Thank you to all those who helped make this happen — including representatives of London’s cultural organisations, Festival Producer Jack Gilbert, LJF Chief Executive Alexander Goldberg, designers Nabu Media, and the PR Office.

I hope all Londoners will enjoy Open Jewish Culture.
